Generations of making
Our Story
The Mhlaphi family
A legacy shaped by hand.
Carpentry runs through generations of the Kulaleni clan — from great-grandfather to grandfather, father, and now Isaac Mhlaphi. It is knowledge passed through hands: how to read timber, respect its grain and make something that lasts.
After completing his carpentry course, Isaac formalised the family craft in 2026. Kulaleni Magic Furniture carries that inheritance forward with a modern South African point of view.
Kulaleni Magic Furniture is a proudly South African brand founded by Isaac Mhlaphi and rooted in the Mhlaphi family’s generational carpentry heritage.
Our promise
Heritage craft, made for tomorrow.
We believe good furniture should feel personal, work beautifully and grow richer with time. Every commission is an opportunity to honour where we come from while making something entirely your own.
